How do I read Guitar / Piano Vocal score?

I bought a book on music has guitar / / Piano Vocal score on it. Want to learn the guitar part, but I'm really confused. All I see are notes, and on top of the notes are consistent. Can anyone help? Or atleast tell me a place to go?
